Privacy policy

What Rammy does with information.

Effective date: October 14, 2026

Rammy is made by Nathan Shane Ridings. You can write to nathanridings5@gmail.com. This policy covers the Rammy website, the home companion, and the Rammy Alerts phone app. It is meant to be plain.

Not a medical device. Rammy is not certified as a medical device and is not a replacement for emergency services.

The short version

The companion runs on the computer at home. There is no cloud AI. Video from the webcam and the optional cameras is not recorded. What she tells Rammy stays on that computer. Family alerts and live video calls use the internet so a phone can ring or a call can connect. This website does not use advertising or analytics.

This website

rammycare.com is a static site. It does not ask you to make an account. It does not set analytics cookies, and it does not show ads.

The waitlist form sends your name, email, who you are, and your note to nathanridings5@gmail.com through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), the same kind of mailer the Hearing Assistant waitlist uses. FormSubmit delivers that message by email. We use it only to reply about Rammy. You can skip the form and email that address yourself.

The home companion

Rammy on the television runs on a Windows PC or a Mac in the house. Medicine reminders, health numbers she or the family enter, and what she tells Rammy are kept on that computer.

The webcam, and optional Wyze or Tapo cameras, are used to notice a fall or an arm wave for help. Rammy does not record that video and does not upload a recording of the room.

If she does not answer “are you okay?”, or a medicine dose is missed, Rammy notifies the family. That notice is a message, not a video.

Rammy Alerts

Rammy Alerts is the phone app at hearingassistant.app/rammy-alerts/. It keeps information in the phone’s browser storage: pairing details, your name, the name used at home, health readings, the visitor list, medicines, and a short history of medicine changes. That copy stays on the phone until someone clears the browser storage for the site.

The phone camera is used only to scan a pairing code. Rammy Alerts does not save that scan as a video.

Longer notes are sealed with the pairing key before they are sent. They travel through an ntfy notification server, ntfy.sh unless the home setup names another server, so the family’s phones can ring. Short titles, such as a call or a request to check in, are visible to that notification service so the phone knows to ring. ntfy is a separate app and service when you use it for a locked screen.

A video call opens a Jitsi Meet room at meet.jit.si. The call is live. Rammy does not record it. Jitsi is a separate service with its own practices.

Rammy Alerts does not include advertising or a separate analytics tracker.

Children

Rammy is for older adults and the family or nurses who help them. This site is not directed at children under 13, and the waitlist is not for a child.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page and the effective date will change.
